A new beginning |
Today marks the maiden issue of Biztimes, a weekly financial newspaper. As its name implies, its focus is on business, in all its dimensions but with particular emphasis on the financial world. Biztimes is designed to address the information needs of those among us who must go out to earn a living. Through an arrangement with Telequote Financial Services of HongKong, Biztimes will regularly carry data and information on significant developments not only in the Philippines but also in the rest of Southeast Asia, as well as from North America and Europe. Since 1988 Telequote has carried market information from Mainland China, HongKong, Singapore, Malaysia, as well as commodity Futures Exchanges of the U.S.A., the London Metal Exchange, round the clock foreign exchange reports and financial news. Local developments, especially in information technology, trade and energy will also be among the regular features of Biztimes. But over and above all these, we commit ourselves to serve only one taskmaster — the truth. We realize that in these days, aptly called the Information Age, the job will not be easy.
